We chose the route via Segamat. We drop by Segamat Nanyang Style Kopitiam to enjoy authentic Roti Bun Bakar!
The journey to Kuantan is much faster with the upgrading of roads along Tangkak – Jementah – Segamat – Kuantan. After 4 hours of journey, we finally reach Kuantan.
We chose a not so commercial beach at Pantai Baru Hitam and stay at Mandurah Hotel where beach is just in front of us with sea view room. Evening time, we went to the beach and to my surprise, I see a lot of hermit crabs enjoy the sea tide. Digging, crawling, and hiding – so cute!
Time for a good dinner! We went to the famous seafood restaurant Alor Akar Seafood Restaurant. Great taste at reasonable price. Be prepared to wait for an hour.
After a great dinner, we take a walk at Teluk Cempedak. Crowded with the people and there are some stalls like Pasar Malam with some musicians light up the atmosphere.
Next day, we went to Cherating Turtle Sanctuary. Got a few turtles in the pond. The beach seems protected for the hatching of the turtles.
After our lunch, we drop by Tasik Chini. A nice lake but too bad temporary abandon due to Covid-19. Hope it will be revive soon.
We drop by the small kampung – Felda Chini. A well organize and maintain Felda. The roads, landscapes, schools, houses, etc are well organize. We also buy some pisang goreng and fruits at good price.
Opps, we miss out Sungai Lembing due to our schedule is packed. Maybe next time…. A nice staycation at Kuantan that we will surely miss it.
